Park Week is published by Gary Thomas (hello@parkweek.example). This policy describes what we collect on parkweek properties and what Commission Junction and advertisers may collect if you follow an affiliate link.
What we collect on this site
The public website does not require an account. The contact form does not store submissions on our server; it opens your email client. If you email us, we keep the correspondence as any small publisher would: to reply, to correct a hub, or to document a legal request.
Hosting (for example Vercel) and DNS providers may process IP addresses and standard server logs as part of delivering the site. Those logs are not used by Park Week to build marketing profiles.
Cookies we set ourselves
Essential cookies or local storage may be used by the framework to keep the site working (for example, load balancing or a future cookie preference). We do not currently set an advertising cookie on page load, and we do not drop a CJ tracking pixel on every article.
If we add a cookie-preference tool or first-party analytics, this section will name the tool and whether it is optional. We will not silently add a third-party ad ID graph.
Commission Junction and advertiser cookies
When you click a lodging, activity, or insurance button, you leave Park Week for Priceline, Hotels.com, Viator, or Allianz Travel US (or a CJ redirect in front of those sites). CJ and those advertisers may then:
- Set cookies or similar identifiers to attribute a booking to this publisher.
- Record that a click happened, often with timestamps and landing URLs.
- Process the booking on their own privacy terms, including payment data we never see.
Tracking links will only be enabled on HTTPS. CJ click URLs wrapping http:// destinations are not used. Until advertiser IDs are filled in lib/affiliates.ts, buttons go directly to the public HTTPS advertiser sites without a CJ redirect.
Read the partners’ policies as well: Commission Junction / Publicis Commerce, Priceline, Hotels.com, Viator, and Allianz Global Assistance / Allianz Travel Insurance. Their cookies are not “Park Week cookies,” but they are a consequence of using our affiliate links.
What we do not do
- Sell your email list. We do not have one yet.
- Sell personal information as that term is used in CCPA-style statutes.
- Run a hidden insurance requirement behind a booking button.
Your requests
To ask what we hold about you (typically: an email you sent), write to hello@parkweek.example with “privacy” in the subject. We will not be able to delete cookies that an advertiser set after you clicked away; that request goes to them.
